- Jugtown Ware was produced by Juliana and Jacques Busbee in Jugtown, North Carolina beginning in 1915. They sold pottery in a tearoom in New York. Due to the need of new shapes Ben Owen was hired in 1923 and the company prospered. Pottery ended production in 1958 due to legal problems but these were resolved in 1960 and pottery is still in production as a nonprofit organization.
